    Active Ingredient:

    Carprofen

    Description

Carodyl® Easy Chews is manufactured by SavaVet. This medication comes in a form of chewable tablets, so it is easy to administer in dogs. The active substance of Carodyl® Easy Chews is Carprofen, NSAID belonging to propionic acid class.

    Indications:

    - pain and inflammation due to osteoarthritis;

    - postoperative pain in dogs recovering after soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.

Although Carodyl® Easy Chews provides symptomatic relief, the sole use of these tablets does not cure osteoarthritis or any other condition.

    MOA (mechanism of action):

Carprofen has potent analgesic and antipyretic properties. It acts by inhibiting cyclooxygenase activity. Cyclooxygenase (also known as prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase or PTGS) is an enzyme, directly responsible for production and release of prostaglandins – lipid mediators that cause inflammation and pain in the body.

    Dosage

Carodyl® Easy Chews should be taken by mouth and chewed thoroughly.

The total daily dose is 4 mg/kg bodyweight once daily in a single or two divided intakes.

The tablets can be cut if needed to provide the exact dose calculated for your dog depending on its bodyweight.

The exact course duration must be determined by your veterinarian.

If you are struggling with giving tablets to your dog, Carodyl® Easy Chews tablet may be disguised in a small bite of moist food, so that your dog would like to eat it.

    Precautions:

If your dog still suffers from pain or inflammation after the daily dose was administered, another NSAID must be considered by your veterinarian. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose of Carodyl® Easy Chews.

Do not give to dogs under 6 weeks of age.

Do not give Carodyl® Easy Chews to any other pets beyond dogs.

    Missing a dose

If you miss a dose you should give it as soon as you remember about your missing. If it is the time for the next dose you should continue the regular dosing schedule. Do not exceed the recommended dosage. Do not administer a double dose to compensate the missed one.

    Overdose

If an overdose occurs and your pet is feeling unwell, stop giving the medication immediately and seek medical advice.

    Storage

Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F) and away from excess moisture and heat. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date. Keep out of the reach of children.
