    Other names for this medication:

    Veltride®, Dupecia®, Sterdu®, Dutagen®, Dutas®, Dutanol®, Deetor®, Avodart®, Avodart

    Similar Products:

    Proscare®, Rogino® Solution, Tricosilk® Max Solution, Minoxytop® Solution, Mintop® Solution, Minoxal-Forte® Solution, Tugain® Solution, Tugain® Foam, Tugain® Gel, Propesteride®, Prosteride®, Finast®, Finax®, Fincar®, Finacet®, Finbald®, Finap®, Finar®, Proscar®, Propecia®, Proscalpin®, Dutasteride, Finpecia®, Finalo®, Fenered®, Anti Hair Loss Cream, Anti-Hair Fall Shampoo, Indulekha® Bringha Oil, Roghan Badam Shirin® Oil, Parachute® Scalp Therapie

    Active Ingredient:

    Dutasteride

    Description

Veltride® tablets are produced by Fortune Healthcare. Veltride® contains active compound called Dutasteride, a type I and type II inhibitor of the enzyme 5α-reductase, that converts the male hormone testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

    Indications:

    - BPH (benign prostate hyperplasia), a nonmalignant overgrowth of the prostate, which squeezes the urethra, reduces the urine flow and makes it difficult for the patient to void the bladder;

    - MPHL (male pattern hair loss), which can be improved only alongside the BPH treatment with Dutasteride.

Women with idiopathic hirsutism (excessive facial and/or body hair growth) or hirsutism due to PCOS can take Dutasteride as an off-label treatment.

    MOA (mechanism of action):

DHT is the androgen primarily responsible for development and growth of the prostate gland. Dutasteride reduces the levels of DHT in the blood, so that prostate growth is no longer stimulated in men with BPH allowing the enlarged prostate to shrink. Dutasteride shows efficacy in the treatment of MPHL or androgenetic alopecia (AA) but can be used as a non-licensed treatment only. DHT is also found in hair follicles. It causes hair follicles to miniaturize and atrophy. Veltride® tablets reverse hair loss process as Dutasteride blocks the build-up of DHT in the hair follicles of the scalp, allowing the hair to grow normally.

    Dosage

    For the BPH treatment:

Take one tablet orally (by mouth) once a day, with or without food.

You should take the Veltride® at the same time every day.

Take Veltride® daily for at least 6 months or more if necessary before any noticeable results occur.

If Veltride® has not worked for you over a 12 months course then it is unlikely that further treatment will benefit.

Do not stop taking Veltride® suddenly, as any therapeutic benefits will be reversed.

Always consult your doctor or pharmacist if you want to stop the treatment before time or if you are intended to prolong treatment.

    For the MPHL treatment (off-label):

Take one tablet orally (by mouth) once a day, with or without food.

You should take the Veltride® tablets at the same time every day.

Take Veltride® tablets daily for at least 3 months or more if necessary before any noticeable results occur.

If Dutasteride has not worked for you over a 12 months course then it is unlikely that further treatment will benefit.

Do not stop taking Veltride® tablets suddenly, as any therapeutic benefits will be reversed.

Always consult your Veltride® or pharmacist if you want to stop the treatment before time or if you are intended to prolong treatment.

    Missing a dose

If you miss a dose you should take it as soon as you remember about your missing. If it is the time for the next dose you should continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not exceed the doctor's recommended dose.

    Overdose

If an overdose occurs and you are feeling unwell, you should seek emergency medical attention or contact your healthcare provider immediately.

    Storage

Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F) and away from excess moisture and heat. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date. Keep out of the reach of children.
