User Experience = FAIL!

emergency

This is a picture of the emergency phone compartment in the elevator at my work.

Just a few user experience issues here:

  • It’s a phone and it’s locked up, why?
  • Break glass to open door. So is there some sort of triggering mechanism on the lock where it unlocks once the glass is broken?
  • What kind of special emergency phone is this that has to be locked up?
  • How do we know there is a phone? You can’t see it behind the glass.

Thank GOD they decided not to lock-up the stop elevator and alarm buttons or somebody would be in a pretty pickle.
