Driving through the neighborhood so, so slow, 5 miles and hour is as fast as that car would go.

Mr. Turner would always say "Where's that Brandon?" Well here I am saying goodbye to my dear old friend.

It's you one day that I'd hope to see, as I grow up and try to be the "fine young man" that you always said I'd be.

Love,
Brandon

I finally was able to get my hands on the tribute that my parents 10 year old neighbor wrote for my Dad's memorial service.

I thought this was very nice of him. We love you to Brandon.

My father passed on May 18, 2009 at 04:55 hours. My wife's father passed on May 31, 2009 at 06:30 hours.

I have my days, yet the worst part about the past few weeks is that I can not do anything to ease the pain that my wife and our mother's are experiencing.

All I can do for them is be there to comfort them. 2 Corinthians 1:4.

After the service for my father-in-law, I told my friend and fraternity brother, Kenny Bowe, "I'm tired of being strong." However as soon as I said it, Kenny said "yeah" and patted me on the shoulder and I heard my conscious say "oh yeah", but I heard God say "Be strong!" Psalms 29:11.

Before my father got sick I trusted the Lord. When he told me that he had bone cancer I trusted the Lord more.

When my father went into the hospital with a very bad cold, that later turned into pneumonia, I trusted the Lord even more.

When my father-in-law had a stroke two days later, I trusted the Lord even more.

When was on the way to a men's spiritual retreat with my church and my mother called to tell me that my father has been moved to ICU, and I told the bus driver to drop me on the side of the road and he did, I trusted the Lord even more.

When my wife told me that the doctor's said that my father-in-law is paralyzed below the waste and his left arm and that. We would have to eat through a feeding tube, I trusted the Lord even more.

When my wife told me that that my father-in-law got pneumonia while recovering from his stroke, I trusted the Lord even more.

When the doctors told my mom, my sister and me that my father has acute leukemia and at the state my father was in that he could pass at any moment, tomorrow or next week and that they done all they could do, I trusted the Lord even more.

When my mother called me the morning of Monday May 5, 2009 and told me that my Dad passed, I trusted the Lord even more.

When my wife told me that the morning of May 31, 2009 that her father passed, I trusted the Lord even more.

I TRUST THE LORD. Proverbs 3:5-.

I LOVE MY DADS!

Some of you know him as Sergeant Turner, Officer Turner, Henry, and Mr. Turner but to me he is Dad. I want to talk about some bible verses that I read and I see my father.

When I told my mother I want to make some remarks she said ok, but you need to write it, and my wife agreed they know I can be long-winded. So instead of speaking from the heart I poured out just a bit of my heart on to the paper.

The bible says in Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

My father made sure every Sunday I would go to Sunday school whether I wanted to or not and for his obedience I am grateful.

Years ago, when in good health, my father said “Son one day God is going to call me home, and we have to accept God’s will.” So when my mother called me and told me my father was in the MICU, I prayed Lord please heal him, but I accept your will if you have to call him home.

When I arrived at the hospital, I asked him how was he and he said I’m ok son. He told my mom the same thing. Dad knows we know the Lord but I believe he said that to protect us. However, when Mr. Patterson came to visit him he asked my father “Henry, how are you?” My Dad while laying in that bed with leukemia and his kidneys shutting down on him said, as good as God wants me to be.

I think my father knew his time here on earth was coming to an end, but I praise God that he was able to without hesitation accept God’s will and say I am as good as God wants me to be.

Yes, that’s my Dad!
