Just what people need another easy way out.

I guess Eric Meyer felt like there are a lot of lazy people out there who want to create standards compliant websites, so why not make them pay for it. The people who really care about learning CSS will not choose to use a template. Well I mean I don’t think so, but I’ve been wrong many, many times before.

Through his many books and blog posts he did a excellent job of teaching us all about Mastering the Language of Web Design, but now he has created a stinking WYSIWYG that, in my opinion, stifles ones ability to increase their knowledge of web development.

I pretty much agree with Trevor and others on subject of html emails.

Yes branding is good, but why must your email look like your site. Why are you trying to post the entire schedule of you event in an email. What is worse is that you put it in the email but it’s mia on your site. Just because you see it in other company’s html emails does not mean that a) you should do it in yours and; b) that because you see it in your email client that it means that it appears that way in other email clients.

Yes improve your SEO and drive users to your site. Post snippets of the email and bring users back to your site to finish reading the rest. Please stop trying to place so many images in an email also. All you need is a simple image in the banner and snippets of text. If it’s going to be longer than a snippet then send them to your site for the rest of the information. Finally, for the love of all that is pure, holy and LEGAL make sure your email has an unsubscribe mechanism.

I am through complaining, for now.
