Cell phone and traffic, not a good pair. People already have enough trouble driving, but then they add a cell phone to further decrease their lack of concentration.
Let’s see, as the conversation increases with interest, the ability to maintain the same speed while driving, decreases exponentially. I see so many people driving 10-20mph below the speed limit while on the phone. I can tell the conversation has taken their attention from the road, not only by the speed that they are traveling but also, when I pass them, they oft have their head on the headrest tilted ever so gently skyward. I usually get right beside them and toot my horn real loud, you know, shake them up a bit.
I’m not going to drop any statistics here, because like my father says, statistics can be spun in your favor. I’m not calling for a ban on the use of cell phones while driving I just want people to be more careful.
